Day 8 Guayaquil Equador and Lima Peru

Here is a blogger follower pop quiz. What is the significance of this picture of my GPS? The anwer at the bottom of the blog.
We had to stop in Guayaquil Equador for fuel on the way to Lima. The area is very hot and humid with rivers everywhere. Lot's of mesquitos and I am sure all kinds of other goodies. The approach and landing were beautiful though as long as I dont have to live there.
There is a run way out there on the other side of the river.

The appraoch into Guayaquil.

A local - My little travel buddy!

For Chris - the plane on the tarmac in Guayaquil Equador.

Short Final into Lima.

On the ground in Lima

Night Night
The flight down was a little of everything, clouds, some ice some beauty some bumps - you know a normal flight. The hotel in Lima is really nice - a five star.
Answer to the pop quiz. The North Latitude was counting down to zero because I was crossing the equator- I almost got the photo at zero but I got so excited that I blurred the photo so as close as I got was 4 seconds. Note the time as it was 17:15 zulu time or 12:15 PM local time so the sun was at it's height in the sky at the equator so I was as close as I was ever going to get to the sun in my whole life. I worried that my wings would melt but they didn't. Actually it was very exciting for me..
